I never drank much soda, diet or otherwise, and yet developed pancreatic cancer at age 60. I stayed away from junk food, too, and ate lots of fruits and veggies. I was obese for years, though, from overeating, especially foods high in sugar content, so I think that was the cancer trigger for me, but I know that there are lots of folks who maintained healthy weights and still got PanCan. I suspect the triggers are environmental carcinogens.

I was a very healthy weight exercised all the time. Was told not hereditary. So the artificial sweeteners in Diet Coke possibly was the trigger. Sugar seems to be the common thread whether in Coke or foods. And yep wondering what the carcinogens are that could he possibly triggering it. More research is definitely needed. I know they are working on a blood test to diagnose it. Hopefully it comes soon.
