Has anyone with an ileostomy dealt with nonstop nausea?

Actually, my GP and ostomy nutritionist both suspected “silent” reflux and recommended Pepsid AC 20mg in the morning an hour before I eat and I just started that regimen just 3 days ago and no difference so far but my GP said it could take a week to help so I’m holding out hope that it will help the nausea. However, that does not address the lower output I’ve been having for a week or so. No diet changes; no food allergies and no new medications except the addition of Pepsid and Atarax as needed to help control the nausea. I’m just praying I get answers this morning from my gastro dr and PRAY this is not any kind of obstruction!! Been there, done that! And never want to go through that again!!

My husband started taking hydroxyzine (Atarax) a few months ago for extreme itchiness as a byproduct of immunotherapy. He switched to another antihistamine because it made his throat extremely dry, particularly at night. That certainly wouldn't be helpful for silent reflux.

Good luck!
