I have terrible anxiety,
Dry mouth
Shaking
Palpitations
Dizziness
Fast heartbeat
Sweating
My upper lip trembles
Feel the need to take deep breaths.
I was diagnosed with cancer Dec 2019, my husband passed away the following Feb, in 2020 with a heart attack. Then about that time Covid was around.
I am sure I have PTSD from all this. I have had the flu for 3 weeks now. Some better but the anxiety from being sick and overthinking about it is driving me crazy.
Panic attacks are a given now.
I constantly worry about this symptom and that symptom.
Going crazy

I'm sorry you are going through all that. It is awful. I have GAD and the symptom I have a hard time with is the brain fog feeling that I get. It's terribly annoying. On no meds at this time. Been there, done that. Cardiologist has me on Propranolol for palpitations that I had and anxiety. The medicine works for the physical symptoms but not the mind thoughts that you have with anxiety. 🙁

@redbird8857, you've been through a lot in a short period of time. It can take a toll on your mental health.

If you are still in care at a cancer center, you might asking about a consult with an oncology social worker to talk through what you are facing. Have you thought about talking with therapist? How are you doing today?

@redbird8857 You've described how anxiety affects your mind and your body. Has your experience with anxiety become worse lately? Are you feeling any better after that terrible bout of flu?

I apologize for all the questions but I'm trying to figure out how I can be most helpful to you. Do you have a mental health therapist you work with?

When I get very anxious I find that moving helps a lot. If it's not too cold or icy outside then I walk on my road out doors. I look at the trees, look for birds (I take my binoculars as I'm a birder) and listen. Right now we have cold temperatures (in the teens or lower in daytime) and a lot of snow. So, I either go snowshoeing in the woods or go to the gym and walk on the treadmill. Just that movement of propelling myself out of the chair or sofa helps me.

What do you do when you feel particularly anxious?
