@biga282

She says her care team is aware of what is going on. Her nephrologist adjusts her fluid for the peritoneal dialysis to try to control her throwing up. She takes Zofran to help. She does hydrate as much as she can. She just told me maybe the Labetalol or Losartan is causing her to throw up. Thanks so much for your concern I appreciate it!

@giga282 Those two meds are for high blood pressure. Is she also dealing with that? If her blood pressure is down into a more normal range, maybe her dose can be cut down? With all the throwing up, and taking Zofran, has she thought about doing some sugar free Gatorade or pedialyte to replace electrolytes?

I am also on peritoneal dialysis, and keep my fluids to about 40-45 ounces a day. Cutting down or eliminating red meat, onions, bell peppers, too many sugary sweets, too many raw veggies in a day have all helped me. Like her, I have Zofran to take; maybe her cancer team can offer a script for compazine, which really slows the large muscles of the digestive tract down and many times is stronger than the Zofran.

Really pulling for her!
