Tablets can be cut. Capsules can be opened and contents divided equally between the two halves, then poured on an edible. A pharmacist can offer other suggestions. Often, they're a better resource than some doctors.

I think I saw on a post from one of the moderators earlier that there is a 25 mg capsule and I believe I have seen mention a 37mg as well. Also people twist the capsule open and pull out some of the little beads .

@jimhd. I know it sounds odd but not all tablets can be cut. Check out OxyContin tablets. It very specifically says to not cut or crush because it can release too much all at once then. I presume the same can be true for other tablets so before cutting or crushing that should be checked on.

It's absolutely true that some tablets are not to be cut, generally any extended release meds. I always read the precautions and warnings with my medications, even if I've been taking them for a long time. That's why tapering on or off any medication should be coordinated with a doctor.

You can go to a compounding pharmacy and they will make up capsules for you. I suggest going down 10 mg once a month. My insurance covered it.
