Myofascial Pain Syndrome Suspected
My husband has seen every possible doctor and they can't find out anything wrong with him. He is in severe pain all the time. They believe that he has myofacial pain syndrome, but it is hard to diagnose. We are going to see a pain management doctor next week. Are there any medications that seem to work for anyone? OTC medications do nothing for the pain at all.

My pain was caused by a lifting accident, started in lower back, then spread (sciatica) through both hips and down legs over a 4 month period. It was only when I went to a pain doctor that myofascial pain was diagnosed. 4-6 weeks of manual PT, plus cortizone shots in SI have relieved most of the pain present. However, still don't know if corticosteroid shots will be needed forever. Lumbar MRI did not reveal bulging discs, but will meet with neurosurgeon next month to get his opinion. While I was in pain, Salon Pas helped just a little, but Tylenol Muscle Pain was more helpful on a temporary basis.
