LPR, GERD, Diverticulitis, and now SIBO
Most recent diagnosis of SIBO. Two rounds of antibiotics helped but still have symptoms. Seeing a dietitian in 6 weeks as that was the soonest appointment. Not sure what I can eat or drink. Getting discouraged.

SIBO is so difficult to get rid of, as I've discovered, especially if you have methane SIBO. You probably had SIBO before some of these other diagnoses. I am on 2nd round of xifaxin which I didn't want to take but I finally gave in. after six months of alternative efforts. I also take Atrantil and megaspores, which stopped the constipation, along with an antibiofilm. My initial test was 71 and then with fodzymes I cut it to 54. Not sure what the score is now but hoping stuff is finally gone. I'll stay on atrantil and megaspores forever. Once you get SIBO it comes back if you aren't careful, as I have learned. They build colonies and they are organized, little devils.
Thank you for responding. My main symptom was flatulence no pain but very frequent and embarrassing. Hopefully dietician can help. In the meantime I’m trying to not eat sugary treats or dairy but it is almost impossible to avoid completely (at least for
me)
Sugar is bad for me too. Get some fodzyme and you'll be able to eat dairy unless you're lactose also. My symptoms started with hemorrhoids every time I'd drink a beer. Are you methane or dlhydrogen sibo
I’m not sure what type of SIBO i have. I will have to ask them at my appointment
Yes. It is very important. Methane is actually an invasion of archaea not
bacteria and they are tougher to get rid of
How did they test for this?
Breath test in home from trio ordered by my gastro. Your score should be under 5. My first was 71. Test is around 300 but I was lucky my insurance paid
It looks like they only tested for hydrogen
That's weird. The trio test did all three at once. But if you tested
positive I'd think that is what you have. Was this the at home breathing
test?
No it was at a hospital lab
