Rickdemaria, Yes, PF can be caused by an injury. PF is inflammation of the fibrous tissue along the bottom of the foot that connects to the heel.
Could you have caused PF inflammation from an injury? Personally, I think so. I honestly cannot say the injury and PF are the same thing. Only your doctor could answer this.
I am simple, so here's another way of looking at it. I have allergies. If I have been exposed to a lot of dust/dust mites (my worst allergens) I can get a sinus infection. Allergies and sinus infection are not the same thing, but, the allergen caused the sinus infection. I hope that makes sense.
I do know from my on personal experience, the feet being the farthest away from the heart, takes a while to heal. We also, as we age, lose the fat pads in the bottom of our feet, so our feet are not as protected from things as we age. Don't you just love that "Age" word? LOL.
It can be caused by walking a certain way, obesity and mine was brought on years ago by wearing flip flops one summer on a hard floor (this was when I was young! LOL).
Praying for you to get better. I empathize as I know how painful this is. Blessings....
