Ok. I am not addicted for recreational purposes. I have throbbing and twitching calf muscles that can be excruciating and keep me from sleeping. I was prescribed Oxycodone after surgery but now they won't continue it with no explanation. I was only taking it at night to help me sleep otherwise I am up most of the night with getting 2 hours sleep. That is why I am looking for a Dr who understands that sometimes opioids are the only thing that can help. There was an article in the New York Times about chronic pain and how pain management is decades behind other areas in the medical field as far as research and how millions of people are in pain all the time because of this. I am one of them seeking some relief from chronic pain after surgery which only helped a little and left me with more pain.

but you are not requesting opioids for the right reason. I understand your pain. So what surgery did you have -- that will be more productive. what is your age? What is your history behind the surgery? those answers are probably why you are not being prescribed opioids. There ARE things which resolve your problem. How long out are you from surgery and did you have the problem before surgery? I have some ideas for you.
