I am posting to add to @lhankins reply regarding Tymlos. @windyshores helped me greatly as well when I was beginning Tymlos, now 3 months ago. I am 67 with severe osteoporosis (3 vertebral fractures in 2024 from stopping Prolia and only being prescribed a biphosphonate after that) and was very nervous about Tymlos bc of the palpitations reported. I have afib and svts, both medication controlled at this point. I started off w 2 clicks, then upped it quickly as I felt fine. I do use the pen in the morning, at full dose and do get the agitated feeling, slightly accelerated heart rate, all that but it doesn’t last long and I first sit and finish my one cup of coffee then keep occupied so as to distract myself. I never have felt lightheaded, luckily. Trying to do it at night was bad for me bc I couldn’t relax with the heart rate and I really like just getting it out of the way early in the day.
I go in two weeks for labs and am anxious to see where my numbers are at this early point in treatment.
Also got the book Great Bones as recommended and even though lots of it is very technical it has been a godsend.
Wishing such good luck to you all that are suffering with this disease. Fractures are the worst thing I’ve ever dealt with and that is saying a lot, bc I’ve been through cancer and 4 cardiac ablations! So prevent them if at all possible!

@jennirdh I too opted for the morning due to the same reason. There was no way I could sleep through heart palpitations and chills which is what I got with Tymlos at night. I do my language lessons in the morning while I wait for my body to settle down. “ Fractures are the worst thing I’ve ever dealt with and that is saying a lot, bc I’ve been through cancer and 4 cardiac ablations! So prevent them if at all possible”! Agree! Fractures are what really scare me; specifically in my spine where my osteoporosis is worse.
