Has anyone been prescribed EB-N5?

Has anyone been prescribed EB-N5? I see there was a discussion of this supplement before, but it dates back to 2018. I received a message this morning from my neurologist saying he'd like me to begin taking EB-N5. Unfortunately, he's not in the office today, so I'm not able to ask him what I might expect from EB-N5. If any of you have used this supplement, I'd love to know what results, if any, you had.

Yes, I've beenon it for about a year and half now. It was prescribed by my Endocrinologist for my PN. The PN flare ups that I used to get were quite painful, severe, deblitating, and frequent (once every 4-6 weeks; over 4-5). Mainly in my feet and sometimes my hands. After taking EB-N5 about a month or so noticed the attacks weren't as severe and didn't last as long. Fast forward a a little over a year now. I may go 2-3 months and experience some minor tingling that is absolutely tolerable compared to what I was experiencing before starting on EB-N5. This is phenomenal considering that I used to take Lyrica 100mg three times a day with minimal, brief relief. I use a little cold therapy (ice pack) now to help with the minor flare ups and that gets me through with ease. I pray this is helpful and you have a great outcome as well. All the best to you!

Hello, @tcgunn

I'm glad to hear that EB-N5 appears to be working for you. I believe it is for me, too, although I've been fighting a sepsis infection for the past nine months. Sepsis has made my balance much worse, and my sepsis symptoms seem to be waning, it has been impossible for me to report with any authority on the effectiveness of EB-N5 in halting or at least slowing any worsening of my PN balance difficulties. That said, I've no reason to think that EB-N5 has done me any harm; therefore, I'm continuing to take it.

All the very best to you!

What is EB-N5? AND DOES IT REALLY HELP YOUR NEUROPATHY?

@geepee

Incidentally, EBM Medical direct bills me $49.97 for 180 capsules of EB-N5 which lasts me 90 days.

@geepee do you the cause of your neuropathy and what symptoms do you have that go better?

Hi Ray. Did these work for you? I have small fiber neuropathy. No pain really just numbness. I have just started on these.

I was prescribed EB-N5 by Walter Butler, DPM, Memphis, TN about 9 months ago, 1 capsule twice a day. Used to treat peripheral neuropathy in the feet. It’s a MIRACLE for me. After about 90 days I weaned myself totally off of Gabapentin. I am now able to easily cope with just occasional incidents of very mild tingling that presents late day or sometimes at night. I am aware of no side effects.

Did it help with the numbness. I take Tumeric for the pain and that went away almost immediately.

I have had many problems with vitamin blends because of dosing amounts, either not enough to help or too much that they cause toxicity. And this one is expensive! Watch out for the B6.

The ingredients in EB-N5 are:

• L-Methylfolate Calcium 3mg (this is good for diabetic neuropathy only)

• Methylcobalamin 2mg (this is 2,000mcg of B12, a dose normally given for B12 deficiency. I would have my B12 levels tested before taking this much.)

• Pyridoxal 5-Phosphate 35mg (I would have my B6 levels tested before taking this high amount. 35mg is enough to cause B12 toxicity, which makes neuropathy worse and even causes it. If you do not have a deficiency, this is too much.)

• Alpha Lipoic Acid 300mg (This should be R-ALA, which is better assimilated. ALA contains a synthetic form not absorbed by the body.)

• Cholecalciferol 2500IU (This is a high amount of D3, but if you have a deficiency, you will need a higher dose. Have your D3 levels tested. Taking too much D3 when it is not required can cause bone and kidney issues.)
