How would I figure out the base cause of 3a ckd? I am also pre-diabetic.

To add to 3a ckd and pre-diabetes. I have been taking a statin and fluoxitine antidressant for 25 years. All other lab tests are normal. Should i stop the statin? I am 73

@seapen Your doctor is the best place to go to for figuring out the root cause for CKD. Uncontrolled/under medicated high blood pressure or diabetes are the two most common causes, according to statistics. But, medication side effects could speed things along. My cousin had kidney damage from a cardiac medication many years ago. Lithium use is also a known cause of kidney disease. Other factors can be genetic, like polycystic kidney disease, of lifestyle.

What is your eGFR at this point? Have you been referred to a nephrologist, yet?
