on July 30, 2024, my husband had his first infusion of pactilaxil, had a deadly anaphylactic reaction, put him in critical care, hospital for a week, never recovered and died on December 19, 2024. That drug is DEADLY.

Thanks for sharing his story @lparkermn48. I'm sorry that there wasn't a follow-up treatment that could help. These medications can be life savers for some, but in this case it sounds like it caused too much damage for his body to overcome. What a heart-breaking situation for you and your family. Sharing his story has raised my own awareness and that of others too. Was his type of lung cancer, lung?

According to the Pfizer paclitaxel warnings, 4-6% of people can experience anaphylaxis or severe hypersensitivity. I found a few studies suggesting that the percentage is actually higher based off reporting of adverse events to the FDA, but more research is needed.
