When I said, that the family I married into is "hands off", I meant that there isn't any physical contact beyond a handshake or quick hug. They're actually really great people. (I'm phobic about being touched anyway; got physically abused a few too many times.)

Through my in-laws, I have (I think) 26 nieces and nephews, and 24 great-nieces and -nephews. So far.
Age has taken its toll, but when I got married, I had 10 brothers- and sisters-in-law, plus their spouses. I don't think I ever did learn everybody's name, especially the tougher Polish names like Zbigniew, Genowefa, Mieczyslaw...

Regarding your challenging in-law monikers:
Just call them Ziggy, Genny, and Mick and be done with it. I'm sure they're used to having their names butchered.
