I cant take estrogen replacement.
The AI as i understand will counteract any estrogen i have. Prolia is supposed to protect my bones. I dont understand how taking something to protect my bones can cause fractures

I was 51 when I started on HRT. My doctor prescribed Estrogel 0.05% topical gel that I rub into my forearms daily. I went through menopause at 55 and my doctor added oral progesterone 100 mg per day.
I have not had any side effects from it; in fact, it made my life so much easier. I was having hot flashes, brain fog, and low energy before going on it. My osteopenia had not yet been diagnosed; I had my first DEXA at age 53.
I think taking the Fosamax during the first two years was good as I did see significant improvement in my T-scores. I don't think I should have stayed on it as long as I did, though. I never had any serious side effects while taking it like some do (digestive issues, reflux, bone pain, joint pain, etc.).
