Results of my PSA and moving forward with more testing.
I have posted here about my PSA and my biopsy last year coming back benign. I just got my latest PSA and it's down a point from 12 to 11. So it's not increasing. Moving forward they are sending the cells they collected at the biopsy for further testing. They are doing genetic bloodwork for PC. I will know in about a month. I'm hopeful about this. If either of the tests come back positive I repeat the biopsy. If they come back negative I'm good.

If they come back negative , BEWARE .
I had a two ( 16 core ) Transperineal MRI Fusion Biopsies . Six cores in the target area .were classified as follows
My Biopsy came back negative . A 2nd Biopsy Gleason 6 A 2nd Opinion of my 2nd Biopspy was changed to ALL Gleason 3 + 4 = 7 A 3rd opinion was changed again to Four Cores Gleason 3 + 4 = 7
My MRI was PI RADS 5 and clearly my 1st Biopsy pathology report, which was negative . was in conflict with a RADS 5 Score .
You might consider asking for a Decipher test to see if those cores show anything, the genetic testing may uncover something the biopsy does not.
I had pc 15 years ago. My psa was 3.2 and had varied from 2.5 to 3.5 for several years. I had 3 biopsy samples of all 4 prostate lobes. 2 lobes were cancerous, 1 was not sure, 1 as clear. 2months later when surgery was done, all 4 lobes were cancerous. Just know that psa should be in very low single digits and negative biopsy results only mean that there was no cancer in the small samples. If tests are negative, pressure the Dr's to determine why your psa is 11/12. Best wishes.
PSA is a good test to catch prostate cancer early. Thanks to the VA they test me every year and more often when my PSA started to rise. I chose to have TULSA PRO procedure when mine rose to 7+. I've had two friends who didn't know they had PA before other problems surfaced. The third knew his PSA was really high but didn't seek treatment. All three have passed away.
