Osteoporosis medication continuity?

My doctor had an interesting observation and she said some women
develop Osteo in the first couple years of menopause and you are in that classic period.

my comments:
Most of us are aware that most women, develop osteoporosis or osteopenia:
that there is a marked drop in bone mineral density at
perimenopause?, during and the years after menopause.
What is the progression of BMD loss the years after menopause?
without intervention of any kind.
I have not been able to find studies on this.

This is just interesting or worrisome:
I read in some studies that many women with osteopenia
will fracture - just as much or even more -
than those in the osteoporosis range.
So, if we move our T scores from osteoporosis to osteopenia;
will we have a slightly better fracture risk, or same.
(excluding the Frax Score.)

what a wonderful exercize routine. ! and great diet supplement.
Taking HRT - adding the supplements, better diet, exercize
and everything else you are doing; has that helped
your BMD scores significantly?
How many more years are you allowed to be on HRT?
What modality happens if you are taken off this.

I can’t know for sure what role all of these played. I started receiving DEXA scans in 2014 at the age of 53. My scores were in the osteopenia range at that time and remained there until 2018 when they just barely slipped into osteoporosis.

I was started on Fosamax and my scores moved back into osteopenia in 2021 but follow-ups DEXAs in 2023 and 2024 showed that my hip was again in the osteoporosis range.

My spinal T-score has always been in the osteopenia range but I still fractured just over a year ago.

I can only hope that the HRT and other measures perhaps helped slow down the bone resorption and that I might have been worse off without it.

I plan to stay on HRT for the rest of my life. My OB/GYN is ok with this.
