Colonoscopy Accuracy Question

Hello,

I'm scheduled to have an initial appointment with The Mayo Clinic for my colon cancer - just discovered last week. I'm trying to decide if I stay with my current hospital or wait approximately, two more weeks to visit the Mayo Clinic. Time is most important; however, I understand quality of care is a strong factor too. I unfortunately don't know if waiting 2 additional weeks in the grand scheme of things is critical or not. Any suggestions?

@loveall1, that's a tough one to answer. Colon cancer grows slowly. Speaking generally, without knowing the specifics of your diagnosis, it is unlikely that the cancer will change in 2 weeks.

Having said that, I know that waiting is really hard. Once you hear the words "you've got cancer", you just want to get moving and get rid of it.

Do you know anything more about the stage of your cancer? How was it discovered?

No question about it.....wait for Mayo Clinic. It may save your life
