Frequent bowel movements

Last December I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. I had surgery the removed some of my colon and now I wear a bag. I have frequent bowel movements right after eating. I have counted 10 to 15 times a day! This has put a stop to eating out or eating in the company of others. If I need to go somewhere, I schedule when I eat, I won't eat before going to an appointment. I started chemo in March last year and am still having treatments, but they have reduced my drugs considerably. The doctor told me I will be on chemo the rest of my life, however long that may be. When I first started chemo I had severe diarrhea, but now it isn't near as bad. I wish I only had 1 bowel movement a day like I used to before all this unpleasantness came to be!

@cartenhopper, frequent bowel movements certainly rearranges how you plan your day and outings. My dad knew where all the restrooms were in the places he frequented when leaving the house. It didn't stop him from getting out, but it changed his patterns of socializing for sure. Sounds like you're figuring out what things you can still do and finding ways to work around the realities of stage 4 cancer.

May I ask what chemo regimen you're on? Do you have a good support system - friends, family?
