I was recently fused from L2 to S2. I wish I had better news for you but unfortunately, the screws at S2 are backing out. They have loosened up a lot. Not sure what to do. I need a second opinion, but I’m not sure where to go.

@smusick1017 Welcome to Connect. I think you should seek an opinion from a spine deformity expert. When pedicle screws pull out at the lower end of the spine, it can be because they were not placed at a proper angle. Unfortunately, this happens as a risk of surgery, and surgeons do operate again to correct this. If you are able to come to Mayo, I would recommend it. I have had 3 surgeries there- Cervical spine and ankle fracture. My Mayo surgeon, Jeremy Fogelson, is a deformity expert. You really need a good surgeon to fix this. It is worth traveling for an excellent surgeon.
