Topical Magnesium Lotion for Feet

Posted by Debbie @dbeshears1, Jun 10, 2022

Yesterday I had an Integrative Medicine doctor encourage me to try rubbing a topical Magnesium ointment on feet, saying she’s heard it’s an anecdotal remedy for neuropathy feet, especially if they feel like you’re walking on gel pads or bubble wrap and may feel wobbly for balance (not pain). I’m never opposed to trying anything at reasonable costs if it seems to have merit, but while I’m googling where to find it, I thought I’d throw it out to this group and see if anyone has tried it and what results they think they got from it? Thank you 🙂

I have found relief from night foot and ankle cramps from idiopathic neuropathy by using Theraworx foam for muscle cramps. Magnesium sulfate seems to be active ingredient.

What is a good magnesium lotion or cream or oil for very sensitive skin? I have tried Theraworx foam and it caused my skin to be extremely irritated. I looked at the ingredient list and there are at least 2 things in it that I am sensitive to, coco betaine and grapefruit seed extract. I wish I could use it, but I can't!

Yes, I’d appreciate knowing the ingredients to that cream. I get foot/toe pain at night from neuropathy.

Thanks for suggestion.
I am willing to try anything that will help my pain.

I seem to have the same symptoms as you, i.e. walking on bubble wrap…that’s a great description. I ordered the magnesium lotion today. Pray that helps. I do find a low dose of thc gummies helps a lot with the pain. I only do that when it’s unbearable.

Add to whatever lotion you like: I have melted down Epsom salt with a small amount of hot distilled water, stir, and let sit, add it to your favorite lotion! It’s not always perfect, it might be a bit grainy, but it works! I also store a mix of it ready in my fridge, (I have no idea if it stays “fresh” longer but it’s great for when my pain is off the charts.) To be honest if you made a small amount you could probably keep it where you most need it. Anyways, I soak a washcloth in, ring it out, and use it as a compress. It gets dry and flaky, but I haven’t tried throwing the mixture in my nutribullet just to see if it’s a better consistency, but that’s what I’m going to try next batch! I usually go with a cup of Epsom, add about 1/4 cup of hot distilled water, stir, add more Epsom salt, a little more water until I have a whole tight fitting jar, or even use a food container. Anything you can get a good seal on!

**The reason I use distilled water, is they use that in beauty, because you can get toxins from tap water, so it’s free of pollutants, toxins, & microbes. Cause we already feel bad enough, we don’t need to be getting rashes on top of it! Also this recipe has saved me tons of money!!!!
**Also off brand pure Epsom salt with no scent added.
Hope this helps!

It depends upon what state you’re in. I got some from Michigan that were 10mg THC, I would eat 1/4 of one. Since I live in MN I have to use what I find here or in WI. I currently have 20 mg ones. I don’t want to get buzzed (I have developed balance problems) so I eat just a little bite. I only do it when I can’t tolerate the pain and it truly works. Have pain all the time but usually it’s tolerable. My pain is like getting constant electrical shocks and it can be horrible.
