I recently read a NYT times medical mystery story in Lisa Sanders column about a guy with tracheal mylasia. He had surgery that used mesh attached to other structures to keep it open. I have no ideas if it’s an option for you, but my nerdy mind found it interesting. I’m a subscriber and not sure if it open access.

Thank you for your reply. I too have researched the survey option and it may have to happen. I am currently in the hospital with a non-productuve cough and severe wheezing. Taking an iv antibiotic as well as Prednisone. I have only been in for a day and night, but I don't seem to be much better yet. Hopefully the wheezing isn't so bad because of the malacia, but I fear it may
be.
