Meningioma: Anyone else? I'm frightened

I was diagnosed late spring last year 2024. Having light headedness and dizziness. Found a 3 cm on the front of my brain. Told like everyone else, slow growing, mainly benign. Saw my PCP for a follow up visit and shared more symptoms, like headaches, trouble speaking out words at times, confusion, difficulty concentrating, periodic ringing in ears. Did another MRI and it went from 3cm to 12 cm in about 7 months with significant findings. This was December 10th. Can't see my neurologist until Feb 6th to find out what the significant findings are. Since then, headaches are worse on that side of my head, constant pressure, head hurts to touch it in certain places, can feel pressure behind my eye now, vision has steadily decreased, concentration is worse, and even feel weak. I am truly concerned!

Truly this sounds concerning, but it may or may not be quite so worrisome. I don’t know your situation and obviously am not a neurologist, but can give the following advice from my personal experience. If you aren’t going to a top of the line neurology and neurosurgical center, now is the time to get to one. And sooner instead of later.

I knew I had something really wrong with me, but accepted the emergency room doctor’s explanation of panic attacks. A few months later, the meningioma bled. I had had a stroke and emergency surgery at 3:30 am saved my life. But it was a closer call than it needed to be.
I wish you well in your search for answers and better health.

Very interesting to read your symptoms. I had been having what I believed were "caffeine headaches" for months, and almost toppled over in kitchen one day. It just never occurred to me these mild headaches were from anything other than coffee/caffeine. I also had ringing in the ears, which I attributed to other reasons. I've been told by a dr. that headaches can be caused for so many reasons, the point being that they often just don't know what to do. With the growing awareness of MRIs being useful in determining the brain situation, there are quite a few articles out there about people insisting on getting them. I eventually had such a headache that resulted in discovery of two meningiomas, one removed with complications, and one taken care of via proton therapy radiation. We discovered my mother had one when she was in her 80s. A 2nd cousin, teenage, had one. I find it interesting that it's still not known whether or not these are hereditary.
