Approaching another 365 day rotation around the sun
Saturday will make the completion of my 65 trip around the Sun. January in the Midwest isn't really the best month for celebrating a birthday, but I'm doing it anyway. Good thing winter Armageddon hit this past weekend and we are expecting cold weather but clear skies.
I didn't have many birthday parties as a kid. Too cold. So I've been making up for that over the years by throwing my own parties. Two where canceled do to ice storms. Many I put together on the day of my birthday with whoever I spent the day with. Usually co workers
This year felt important. Not only that I reached that huge long planned for 65th birthday but six months ago I was diagnosed with cancer and I'm not sure if there will be more birthdays to celebrate.
I want a kid party. You know food games fun. I invited 18 of my closest friends and their spouses to join me for dinner and games at Westport social club. I'm super excited.
I spoke with my oncologist today. It was supposed to be a in person appointment but because of poor road conditions it was move to a tela visit. The Doc complemented me on my health and said he believes my efforts to follow a healthy lifestyle are already paying dividends. That why I like my doc. He recognizes the work I'm doing to correct my health issues and to help him make the cancer go away.
I'm in the next phase. It's the maintenance phase. I personally believe I'll be throwing many more very cold birthday parties.

@denisestlouie What day is your birthday? Your birthday party sounds like great fun. Yes, 65-years-old is a milestone but it doesn't sound like you are planning to retire anytime soon. I think it's so wonderful that your oncologist told you that he recognizes and appreciates the efforts you have put in to maximize your good health.
