I have bunions so bad on both of my feet. My right foot, however, is so bad that my big toe is bent at about 45°+ over the toe next to it and my baby toe is now bent completely behind the toe next to that. I’m going to have to have my foot reconstructed. There are stress fractures happening all the time too. I’m sharing this with you to let you know that I can relate with pain in your feet on a massive level. I’ve been dealing with this for quite a few years now, and I don’t take any major pain medication as I feel as though that just leads to more problems. At this point, I sometimes take Motrin. And I’ve been on a small dosage of gabapentin for the nerve pain for a few years now as well. Of course these things only do so much and I find, for me, a lot of things are mind over matter. It takes a while to get to that point though. I also have pretty bad scoliosis. My left lower back is bent at a 63° angle and so chronic pain is a part of my daily life. And mind over matter, for me, is basically just living my life and not focusing on the pain. I try to put it out of my mind by doing other things. I’m not going to lie, there are days that are worse than others, but even on those days I just keep moving. I find that if I stop doing things, that is when I am in the most pain. That is when my mind begins filling with the pain signals. I never thought I’d be able to get past the pain by just keeping my mind busy and occupied, but it is really an amazing thing, your brain. We possess so much more strength than I could’ve ever imagined. So my advice to you is to keep busy, keep living your life, and really try not to focus on your pain. I know it sounds easier said than done and it definitely takes some practice, but I promise you it works. Good luck! And I’ll pray for you and for you to start feeling better soon. Remember, you’re stronger than you’ll ever know!

@neesie33177, Bless you dear lady. My sister had the bunionectonmy done a couple years ago and did great...hers was not as extensive as yours. What pain you have endured.

Praying for this surgery to be successful right now and for your other pain to get much needed relief.

Happy New Year blessings to you.
