New Balance running shoes for the last 27 years -- since age 55. Walking shoes never gave me enough support or cushioning, and didn't fit as well . Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

I like New Balance, too, however for a recent trip to Italy (a lot of walking!) I bought a pair of black, slip-on Skechers which was the only shoe I took with me. They went with anything. Comfortable from the moment I put them on. I don’t recall the price but I’m thinking it was around $75.
