Why this uncontrolled epilepsy?

I was very ill. Critically. I was on a vent in a medically induced coma septic in multi organ failure. I was coded.I do remember feeling like I was in hello and the devil had gotten me. I think thus memory was sometime after the surgery. I was very agitated. A breach rhythm is an abnormal eeg but is non epileptic. I remain on lamotrigine for seizure prophylaxis. There is a table showing increasec seizure risk over time if I stopped the lamotrigine. This is a decision I found make but I do not. My illness was horrible and traumatic. The rapid response team was called 10 times. One was because I had cardiac arrest. I have PTSD from this as well as trauma from my family dynamics and prior marriage ( he is deceased) and other relationships. The surgery was done not to reduce or eliminate seizures but to remove access in my left temporal lobe from chronic sinusitis. In hindsight this was a needed positive life changing event but I do not advise it. I had to make positive.
