Thank you for your replies. Sue, I wish you the best on your journey to full recovery. When considering the risk/reward factor, I am leaning towards not having TKR as infection complications can be so brutal.

I'm curious as to whether you have addressed this concern with your doctors, and if so, what is their counsel? I personally would not forego the benefits of a healthy joint over fear if they feel the risks are small.
