Day 3 after radical prostatectomy: Urge to urinate this soon normal?

Should I get the urge to urinate this soon. Still attached to fokey catheter.

You’ll feel that urge even with a catheter in place. Totally normal!

The catheter causes bladder spams. That's the wonderful sensation you're experiencing

Yes, totally normal. The spasms are the worst part about the catheter. I found that just letting them go and not fighting them helped a lot.

They make wonderful meds for bladder spasms. Ask your doc for some.

It gets better slowly. “Patience is a virtue” doing kegles is important.
Actually had the urge to pee at 6:30 this morning and went to toilet. That’s a first!
