I only have 40°ROM in my knee after TKR 2014 and knee Revision 2017.

I had a TKR in 2014 and a knee revision in 2017. after the revision I felt great with about 110°ROM which for me was alot but after a year or so my ROM kept getting worse no matter how much stretching I did. The doctor told me I build up a severe amount of tissue no matter what I do and said nothing else can be done. I also probably need a hip replacement on the same side, my ROM is only about 40° now. Is there anything else I can do?
Thank you.

I fear this as I go backwards when I skip my daily slow arising with NSAIDS, exercise bike, stretching… lots of work.
I think I too build up scar tissue continuously- maybe our bodies do not like foreign parts?
40*! How the heck do you walk? Can you?
Are you in good health otherwise? How old are you? What were your normal activities before? Did you follow up with physical therapy and follow recommendations? So many variables that need to be considered.
I’d seek another opinion.
Best wishes.

Reading your story had me reliving my traumatic knee replacement, manipulations and the dreadful TKR. After seeing 8 different orthro doctors a senior reconstructive surgeon diagnosed my condition as a knee contracture. Yes, I received basically the same information as you did from your doctor. This year will mark my 7th year since my first knee replacement and the physical and mental pain doesn’t go away. Prescribed pain medication only puts a temporary bandage on what we have to come to terms with. Good Luck.
