Muscle pain due to Statin (Praluent)

I can sympathize, as I have been on a Statin roller coaster myself! I started with a low dose of Atorvastatin, increased to a higher dose and came down with debilitating joint and muscle pain. Took a break from that and my symptoms cleared up within a few days. Later on tried a low dose of Rosuvastatin, which seemed to be tolerated, increased dosage and it felt like I was having some adverse effects. Decreased to lower dose and seemed ok. In an effort to reduce my cholesterol further, I started Praluent, in conjunction with low dose Rosuvastatin, which initially seemed ok, but as time went on, I started to feel like symptoms were coming on, so my cardiologist had me stop the Rosuvastatin and stay on the Praluent, which so far seems ok. Now I have a ruptured achilles that I am dealing with, so I have other aches and pains to worry about. Maybe my cholesterol lowering regime had some impact on that, but my cardiologist doesn't thnk so. Good luck with your issues!

Also meant to mention that I have been taking Coq10, but hard tellin, not knowin if it actually helps.

My cardiologist told me the same....he doesn't think it's the Praluent but when I go off it and it's been about 5 weeks I am actually feeling better....my muscles don't feel as weak and sore like they did. Even my back is feeling better. I wonder if they mess with my already arthritis that I have making the muscles hurt more. Who knows? It's definitely a frustrating roller coaster.
