Frequent bowel movements

Hi Jim, I am sorry you are going through this. I only had chemo and radiation and ended treatment October 15th, and my system is not even close to normal yet- I don’t know how long you have been dealing with this. The doctors tell me it takes time to heal, and I know people who continue to have issues years later. For me, it is all balance and pain management. I have to control diet and fiber has been my enemy. I am lucky to work from home, but can spend hours on the toilet with mixed results. Then I crap myself anyway. I am trying anything and everything, just keep looking.

My surgeon tells me everyody is different when it comes to post operative or post chemo. That really doesn't halp a lot. He did suggest added fiber and I have had an inkling of success with that. It helps consolidate my bowels so supposedly they will be more productive and therefore fewer. Not sure f that is working.
I also take immodum afew days week so that I can continue my part-time job. It works well so the two days I work (5 hours per day) I have been bowel movement free on those days. I know that is not real good also. Whether or not I take the immodium does not creare added BMs on the other days. At least not as much as I have been able to monitor it.
I will keep looking, and thank you so much for your input. At least I know 'm not the only one. Best of luck to you.

JIM

Hi Hopenjoy, I've been dealing with this since the first week of July when I had my colostomy bag removed. Interesting that fiber has been somewhat helpful to me. And yes, I will keep looking.
