Celia...you just said it all; every symptom you cited my husband has. You articulated what I have been trying to summarize so perfectly. Isn't it amazing that the same behaviors materialize in those hit with --I don't know? Dementia, Alzheimer's? Just old age? My husband will not consult a physician. I see him trying to handle his confusion and fear of a "nursing home." I see a counselor and try to say and do the right things, but I'm not a patient woman and I have (had?) pancreatic cancer and have limited energy. The future will be a challenge, but we have two supportive children (ages 61 and 56), one nearby; Medicare and insurance; and adequate finances. My heart goes out to those without these helps. I don’t know how you do it. Daddy was having a meltdown today….sounded like he was being tortured….I ran to see the trouble and he said he couldn’t unbutton his trousers. He was sitting in his recliner. Ample belly too tight at times. I quickly helped him and he laughed. I bought him elastic waist sweatpants today, but he refuses to wear them. He insist on khaki pants. He struggles with them. I told my mom that we need to remove all the inappropriate clothing so he only has those with elastic waist. She refuses.

With the constant demands…it’s exhausting. I hope you do ensure you have ample help.
