My symptoms got much better but I will have chronic SIBO for the rest of my life because I no longer have an ileocecal valve due to small bowel resection surgery in 2003. So I take Xifaxan and neomycin once or twice a year. Just completed a second round earlier this month and my symptoms improved again.

A lot of us with SIBO have to be treated multiple times. Unless you can fix the slow motility that causes the SIBO, it will rear its ugly head in a regular basis. I use Motegrity to help inbetween antibiotic regimens but I’m not sure it really works for me. I’m on Xifaxan and Pepto-Bismol Day 12 for Hydrogen Sulfide overload and have made it through the die-off without too much trouble. I just stayed close to the bathroom. 😞 I’m looking forward to less pain and constipation!
