How long did it take for the Actemra to start working? I have been taking the infusions for 4 full months, and I don't see any difference. I get tired and depressed the first week after the infusion, and that about it. In January I am going to start Xeljanz, hopefully that works.

Are you doing Actemra infusions to treat PMR or GCA or both?

Have you reduced your prednisone dose since starting Actemra infusions?

The effects of Actemra are more subtle than the immediate pain relief we get from prednisone. It is hard to know what Actemra does until you realize you can reduce your prednisone dose without having a flare.

What dose of prednisone are you currently taking?

Sorry ... I just read on your profile that you have Seronegative RA so that changes things. My primary diagnosis is PMR and that is the autoimmune disorder that Actemra is treating.

I also have a 30 year history of recurrent flares of a seronegative RA disorder called Reactive Arthritis with associated flares of Uveitis. I'm also HLA-B27 positive which predisposes me to spondyloarthritis.

According to my rheumatologist, Actemra isn't optimal treatment for Reactive Arthritis with Uveitis but Actemra seems to be working for me since I also have PMR.
