Anyone have experience with Acites?
I have been diagnosed with PNets grade 2 that metastasized to liver. The past few months I have been dealing with acites. Currently doctor is trying to control it with diuretics. Anyone have more information on this?

I also have struggled with this in the past. Limiting salt can help. My surgeon suggested no more than 2 grams a day. I suspect mine was brought on by malnutrition due to Nets of the Mesentery. Try to live a healthy lifestyle. Exercise, weight, diet, can all affect this.
When I first got diagnosed with a pnet that spread to my liver, I had ascites. I also had cachexia which didn't help. I had my stomach drained 3 times in about a 2 week period. I had 7 liters, 6 liters, then 5 liters of fluid drained. It took a few months for things to completely improve. Fortunately, I didn't have to take any medication for it. My chemo reduced my tumors and lesions allowing my pancreas and liver to function better. That's what got me over the ascites.

How is you doing? Have they got the ascites under control?
Hello,
My name is Dulce I was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer, which started in my duodenum and is now stage 4. I am not a candidate for the whipple procedure due to all my bleeding complications and the size of the tumor that was located on the pancreas and lymph nodes. It has traveled throughout my body but the problem tumors are basically the pancreas, liver, and lymph nodes. I am administered Lanreotide for the more quiet tumors and I started Chemo last month. I will be starting radiation next week. Has anyone gone through stage 4 and come back to just the monthly shots?
A bit too much to digest right now.
Dulce
Hi, so far the Dr's are managing ascites with diuretics. My abdomen has grown to where maternity pants are very comfortable. Dr's still aren't sure if growth is tumors or fluid but believe since it has decreased with diuretics that it is probably fluid.
I am on hospice so extra testing is reserved for when I have more symptoms. Next would be an ultrasound to determine if it is fluid or tumors.
