Any suggestions for expelling tenacioius mucus plugs?

Good, useful suggestions, Barbara. I'll try some of your techniques for indoor air humidification. I also like the idea of wearing an N95 while outside, which I've been doing when inside if people are present (basically for protection against cold, flu, etc).

I failed to mention that it is always best to boil all water, cold tap water, distilled water, purified water, spring water to reach or near to or better 200 degrees temperature to kill bacteria. We don't really know for sure if any of the water is free of bacteria.
You may already know this but just in case I wanted to be more specific.
