Compression socks for blood flow while living with neuropathy

Posted by tomkofathensga @tomkofathensga, 2 days ago

I kept trying compression sox for poor blood flow in my feet. I never felt any benefit. They caused pain in my ankles. I accidently bought 1/4 length sox that turned out to be compression. I tried them and they actually feel like they help without irritating my neuropathy.

Interesting. I use the knee highs and feel like sometimes they help and sometimes the are irritating. Ill try the short ones. Its mostly my feet and ankles that swell. Thanks!

I haven't felt like they did much good... but they are warm.

Compression socks just make my feet and legs swell more.

Interesting. I was just thinking about posting that the COMBINATION of compression socks and orthotics seems to be helping me.

That’s what happens to me when I’ve tried compression socks. Don’t wear anymore.

Because compression socks are not for neuropathy-but for poor venous blood return ( mostly due to failed valves)...
In neuropathy-the peripheral nerves are already damaged and need more blood supply...compression socks will prevent that..thus, your ankles pain. I've tried to explained this to my podiatrist.. she looked at me in disbelief.
