Referral to GI doctor in our new area

Posted by gldmontana @gldmontana, 1 day ago

We just moved to Racine, WI, from Idaho. We would like to find the best gastro doctor to treat my husband’s small intestine diverticulitis. He’s had three resections in the last 20 years and has gone without a partial blockage for three years. Now it seems to be recurring & we hadn’t found a provider yet. I’ve looked on various web sites but would really like a recommendation not too far from our area. (If he had an emergency, the ambulance would take him to Ascension All Saints in Mount Pleasant. But if it meant better care, we could go to Aurora or Froedtert.
I hope this post is acceptable.
Thank you.

@gldmontana, I do not live in WI, but I have several levels of evidence that the website Castle and Connolly lists the best doctors (referrals, my own selections, how C&C chooses who to list). There are several C&C-listed gastros in Kenosha. And, of course, you could travel farther. Chicago is closer than Aurora.

Here is the link for Racine, but if it doesn't hold, you can check for yourself on the C&C website:

Thank you! There are several GIs in the Aurora Medical Hospital Group in this area and several others connected to other hospital groups.
Starting the search now!
I appreciate your help!
