Ischial tuberosity/ bursitis (sit bone) pain

Anyone found effective treatments for this pain aggravated by sitting and prolonged standing? Tried shockwave, injections, acupuncture, dry needling,
PT, etc.

Anyone suffering from ITB - sit bone pain
( tingling numbness) inferior gluteal region - radiating to leg and feet. MRI - bilateral ischial femoral impingement, right greater than left.
Tried Scrambler, softwave, PT, injections with little relief. Other recommendations?

Hello @sash, I combined your new discussion on ischial tuberosity bursitis with your previous discussion, "Ischial tuberosity/ bursitis (sit bone) pain" - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/ischial-tuberosity-bursitis-sit-bone-pain/.

Here you met @cookierockwell, @dfred82 and @littleb who may have new therapies they have either tried or ruled out. @sash, how are you currently managing your daily pain or coping with it as you search for a better way to mitigate the pain long-term?

I had this a few years ago and doing the PBS program Classical Stretch helped more than anything else I tried.

looking for a seat cushion that actually works for ischial tuberosity? None that I have tried seem to work at all. PT work helps a little and seated leg lifts with a tennis ball under the hamstrings helps. Gradually moving the tennis ball higher up just below the bone but not on it provides a good stretch for some relief. If I could find a good seat cushion that isolates and takes pressure off the sit bone I might improve, So far none really deliver. Has anyone found a seat cushion that really works that also has a cut out for the tailbone?

I use a “Purple” brand cushion. Recommend by my helicopter pilot, son (long flights on uncomfortable seats). Works well for me, but nothing is perfect.

I had an awful pain under my sit bone and glute and use one of those cut out tail bone cushion for sciatica pain. I keep it in my car.
It made all the difference for me.
PT helped too but the pillow continues to be beneficial.
