@kensie123
I had daily headaches, neck and shoulder/shoulder blade pain/stiffness, radiculopathy causing pain/weakness/numbness in arms/hands, bladder control issues and difficulty walking. This was all caused by my C5-C6 bone spurs, degenerative disc disease, central spinal stenosis, and cervical myelopathy (spinal cord compression injury). I was 52 years old at the time and had the ACDF surgery urgently to stop the progression of the spinal cord injury and permanent damage. I was more scared not to get the surgery than having it.
I may need surgery now at C6-C7 since my arms/hands are weak and numb again and have a new herniated disc into my central spinal canal.
If you trust your surgeon and they recommend you have the surgery, you definitely want to consider it. The cervical spine surgery wasn’t as bad as my lumbar spine surgery.
Did your surgeon tell you if your spinal cord was being compressed/flattened (myelopathy)?
