Thank you for sharing your wisdom and lessons from life experience, and for sharing stories of Pete Huttlinger and Wayne Messmer--got me a bit teary-eyed if I'm being honest. How fantastic and special to have such a connection with Wayne as well (as a mallet percussionist no less, that is so awesome!! I played marimba and timpani in the 8th grade! lol). I read your interview, and, to hear your connection with art especially as it is how you express and experience life was impactful. That is extremely relatable with my relationship to music--sure I enjoy making and writing music as a passion and for work also, though most of the songs I've written have been in direct reaction to significant life events.

And your painting. simply WOW!!..I am speechless having just watched through the time lapse video. Every minute and hour and day and month and year of focused and inspired work you have put towards your passion truly shows in your art. It is beautiful and so incredibly detailed...you captured the magic and humanity of him so perfectly. Thank you for sharing this!! I am in awe!! I am so thankful that you were able to keep painting. Such a beautiful full-circle moment. I found the time lapse aspect to be comforting as well 🙂

With that said, I will take your words with great sincerity and meaningfulness as I continue on my journey into the unknown. With extensive gratitude, on all levels, thank you.

To quote Pete, live well!

kindly,
Oliver

@oliverviolin Thank you so much. Your words are full of compassin and gratitudeThe painting came from my heart and my hand, and paintings are always better when I am very inspired by something. We recorded the video in real time, and I spent some months editing it and speeding up the time to create a time lapse. We didn't record mixing paint on the palette, so it looks like I have a magic brush that spits out different colors. My surgeon was very touched by his gift.

I think music composition comes from the same spiritual place as art, and it's very healing. I thought you would appreciate being inspired by my musical friends. Their stories also really get to me. Sadly, Pete is no longer with us. His heart failure caused another stroke. All of his fans, myself included, purchased things from the website, his book, instructional videos and music CDs because we wanted to support his family and we had contributed to his medical funds and cheered him on. His book, "Joined at the Heart" is the book about his medical journey, all of the frustration, fear, and loss of ability, and discovering a new way forward. Pete was running a fly fishing guitar camp every summer, and that has continued in his memory.

You will also find your own way. You may not know right now, what medical intervention would be recommended for you. Will you be getting several opinions with an expert who can treat cranial instability? You need someone who has treated some volume of those complex patients. Your doctor probably has told you that no one should be manipulating your neck. It has very severe risks. My physical therapist told me that. Did your doctor explain physically and visually what your issues are?

What are your thoughts and hopes?
