High eye pressure (IOP) or glaucoma can cause a headache and eye pain as a prednisone side effect.

I was diagnosed with high IOP due to prednisone and will require laser surgery instead as I cannot tolerate eye drops where one type literally sent me to the ER.

Ophthalmologist says no more drops for me.

Thanks for reminding me to schedule an eye exam. I have not had a problem with high eye pressure so far in my PMR journey and the headache has been there off and on the whole time. The optometrist thought I was being overly cautious going in every year so I have waited 2 years. He said the steroid-induced glaucoma he has seen happened with higher doses than what I am on ( 5,5 mg). Hopefully he is right and it's still OK!
