Is 112.5mg Tramadol safe to take with 10mg Cyclobenzaprine?
Dr. prescribed (3) 75mg Tramadol (112.5mg) for chronic pain at night for sleeping, then 10mg Cyclobenzaprine to combat severe leg/foot cramps with it. Is this posing any risk at all to an 86 year old woman? I took them together for two nights and noticed no improvement in cramped muscles. I've stopped taking the Cyclobenzaprine when they are not effective and there are toxins in every medication. Trying to find out if the risks outweigh the benefits (no change), but possibly needed to take them longer? Not a pill fan, so am I being too careful?

Strongly recommend you discuss this you the pharmacist and/or the prescribing doctor.
Oh. Not me. I was responding to the OP about medication interactions. I take low dose tramedol right now, only recently, because I fell last March and tore the labrum in my hip. I need a replacement but it even took 6 mos to get a dx. And will be maybe another 8 months before Mayo can get me in for a hip replacement.
Please check the Original post? As a nurse, I was instructing her of the dangers of a higher dose tramedol for seniors.
I’m so sorry that happened to you. No one should be told to just “Live with it”? Telling someone in pain to just live with it is devastating and depressing and can cause hopelessness.
I try to find the best and most supportive provider by asking people I know and trust or through our big teaching hospital in Portland, OR.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the pain stimulator. I’m holding off until I have an MRI on my knee (possible meniscus tear) and back (degenerative disc disease and rupture causing sciatica).
I hope you find relief for the neuropathy and the pinched nerves.
One day and one provider and test at a time!
I would assume your doctor knows this answer, but you can double-check with your pharmacist.
Cyclonenzaprine is a useless pill it helps with nothing
I am currently taking 100 mg of tramadol three times daily. Three 75 mg tabs is 225 mg of tramadol, not 112. This seems a bit high, but I hope your doc knows what he/she is doing. I take so many other drugs, I have almost lost track. When I look at the conglomeration of pills that I lay out during the day, it almost scares me. I'd like to think that at least one of my four or five docs would mention something if there was a problem. Of course, in this relatively small town here in Delaware, health care is like a vast waste land compared to my previous medical services back in PA.
I appreciate your comments and sp agree with the loss of healthcare it's the same in Ontario. As for speaking to doctors about med combinations that are safe, I've found in our city that our pharmacists are easier to get ahold of and are right on top of this topic. Give them a try and good luck.
Both Tramadol and Cyclobenzaprine increase serotonin levels and it is recommended to find alternate drugs. If you’re a senior cyclobenzaprine can be problematic for us, please be cautious.
Thank you for saying that. It confirms what I have found online and been told by others. Very concerning that it is my doctor that gave it tome, and I need to correct my math. Three 75mg Tramadol is 225mg taken at night (that he prescribed, then added a strong 10mg Cyclabenzaprine.
I'm grateful for this Mayo Clinic connect, as it is giving me what I need, when my doctor is doing the opposite. Thank you very much
