Intracept spinal nerve abalation
Anyone had this done?
Darn I created a whole new post moments ago and lost it. ITS my last hope. Spine doc says results are 50-50%. News feed says about 79% receive relief after about 10 days averaging 6-12 months of of pain freedom. I do well with 2-3 x year spinal epidural lasting few days to a little over a month, then bam...back in the mega low back path using opioids.. I,m a senior who cannot walk with walker without
3-4 hrs of Norco pain relief . Am caregiver for my 84 yr old hubby who needs a laminectomy. He Is afraid to have surgery and has PAD pain.
Anyone out there who can share experiences with Intracept spinal nerve abalation??

When I had the spinal ablation I had a local anesthesia and I only briefly felt real pain twice. But the ablation didn’t resolve my back pain from scoliosis.
Did you have the Intracept procedure or another type of ablation?
Intracept is new--a couple of years approved by FDA. Can't imaging you should have so much pain. Can you try another Pain doctor? And verify what type of ablation you've had.

My neighbor had it done and he is pain-free now. I had a double spinal fusion in 2022. My lower back pain has never gone away. I had 2 spinal steroid injections a week ago. They say it could take up to two weeks for it to work. I'm guessing it's not going to help the pain. I've been researching the intracept surgery. It sounds very promising. I've had lower back pain for over 3 years so I will definitely be suggesting this procedure to my doctor I talked with him about ablation and he didn't seem like he wanted to do that. If necessary I will be switching doctors who are more open to other treatments. Has anyone had this done and is now pain-free? I also have polyfibramyalgia rheumatic so I pain is a way of life for me right now. I would love to be pain-free one day!
Please will someone tell me if the surgery worked for them?
I too had PMR and I suspect it left me with this terrible back pain. I now suspect that the PMR never really .eft me, because my shoulders and neck are also extremely painful. Last night my jaw began to pain for no reason and I really pray it is not GCA (another condition directly related to PMR). I’m beginning to feel as old as I am!
You're not old! When I was on a higher dose of prednisone it really helped my back pain. Once I started tapering the pain has come back. I have a call into the dr about the instracept surgery, but 3 days later still no response.
Your jaw hurting maybe TMJ. I have that now too. It really hurts when I eat. You might want to try a mouth guard. Good luck!

1 ReactionI’m having the Intracept procedure on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. I have L4 and L5 bulging disc. I can’t bend slightly or I have lots of pain. Also have weakness in left leg. I will report back if it helps. I have been struggling with this for a year and have not been able to do a lot of the activities I love due to not being able to walk or stand for long periods. I am a 66 year old female.

1 ReactionHas anyone had the Intracept Procedure for lower back pain? I am a 66 year old female who started having lower back pain a year ago and the MRI showed L4 and L5 end plate damage. I’m two weeks out of the procedure and still having some pain. I had an appointment today and the doctor said it could take a while to notice lots of improvement. This procedure is covered by Medicare and minimally invasive. I was in and out within 40 minutes. I’m really hoping it works for me, but was wondering how others were doing.

1 ReactionI had the Intracept procedure 2 weeks ago and was so hoping for my l4 and l5 lower back pain to go away, but so far I’m still struggling with it. My doctor told me that sometimes it take months to see the full effect. Has anyone else had this done? It’s a relatively new procedure.
