Treatment for burning feet and ankles

There are various solutions. One is a neuro cream compound you must get on a prescription. It is pricey-about $100 for a 2-month supply. Some insurances plans will pay for some or all of it. Recently I discovered Qutenza, a new product which is a patch that is applied for 40 minutes by a specialized doctor or nurse. The effects last 3 months and then you go back for subsequent treatments. I have found this very effective and lasting. The initial application can present a bad burning effect, but bathing your feet in whole milk will alleviate this. I have had my first application for almost 3 months and have little issues with burning and prickling, especially at night when it is the worst. It will not cure numbness, but I don't find this bothersome, not compared to the horrible burning pain I used to have. If I feel pain at night, I rub my soles and the pain disappears. You will be required to get an evaluation before they will administer this drug to see if you qualify. Medicare covered the entire cost for me. I would research this product online and see if it is for you. 💜

What kind of specialist applies the patch? Pain Management?
