Treatment for burning feet and ankles
I can’t sleep at night due to burning feet and ankles. Has anyone found a product that you can rub onto these that takes away the discomfort and allows you to get to sleep

I’ve read all the posts relating to creams etc. for painful feet and ankles caused by peripheral neuropathy and there are so many it’s almost impossible to choose one.Can anyone point me towards one that really works please
There are various solutions. One is a neuro cream compound you must get on a prescription. It is pricey-about $100 for a 2-month supply. Some insurances plans will pay for some or all of it. Recently I discovered Qutenza, a new product which is a patch that is applied for 40 minutes by a specialized doctor or nurse. The effects last 3 months and then you go back for subsequent treatments. I have found this very effective and lasting. The initial application can present a bad burning effect, but bathing your feet in whole milk will alleviate this. I have had my first application for almost 3 months and have little issues with burning and prickling, especially at night when it is the worst. It will not cure numbness, but I don't find this bothersome, not compared to the horrible burning pain I used to have. If I feel pain at night, I rub my soles and the pain disappears. You will be required to get an evaluation before they will administer this drug to see if you qualify. Medicare covered the entire cost for me. I would research this product online and see if it is for you. 💜
Hello 🌠
I had a severe lateral (outer) foot injury called a SINUS TARSI...
I experienced severe pain + loss of mobility.
It was debilitating time in my life + thankfully my amazing doctors were learning about NEW treatment approaches to severe foot + ankle pain
I did a CONCURRENT series of medical treatments including =
1. Compound lotion - a skin lotion custom made for my unique medical needs + localized pain relief
2. Medical acupuncture by a licensed + well trained medical professional
3. Customized aquatic hydro therapy 4-5 days per week with The Burdenko Method structured + sequential unique regenerative healing program
4. Salt cave "Halo therapy"
5. Soaking in a bath tub with hot water + Himalayan sea salt to calm inflamed nerves.
6. Careful attention to footware + quality shoes - I have really done well with Vionic well designed sneakers + shoes.
7. Pay attention to type of mattress + condition = the nerves in the foot/ankle connect to the leg nerves + spine so the right mattress really helps!
8. Tradutional French Ballet (minus the jumps + pirouettes!) To strentgthen foot + ankle junction = gravity pushes down so our feet + ankle feel this... many pro athletes incorporate french ballet basic exercises to help their important feet stay happy + pain free 😇🙏🌠
Publix carries GREAT socks 🦶 that really are amazing! They dont have compression in the mid foot area as most socks do...the socks are available for both men + women. I had severe neuropathy previously from trauma + these SOCKS ROCK 😇🙏✨️🥇✨️
I take 300 mg Gabapentin 1-4 times per day as needed. My feet and hands burn and the rest of me doesn't like having things touch me. At bedtime I have found that wearing thin socks plus wearing thin "Cuddle duds (tight ones) helps me. This way I'm covered from neck to toes and the sheets, blankets, and my hair doesn't touch my skin. Some nights I have to wear gloves to cover my hands - breath from my nose on my hands hurts can even hurt. When I'm covered like this then I don't feel anything on my skin. This is what I have found that usually works for me.
Hi
I just joined this group. Regarding the feet and ankles and sleep I have dissolved 1/3 of a Zolpidem tab under my tongue and can get 6 to 7 hours sleep. I don't use the drug every night. However when I can no longer get to sleep I do not hesitate to use it.
