I was put on Atorvastatin almost 10 years ago. I was advised it could cause muscle pain. I was put on the 40 mg. and advised to take Co-Q10 from both my cardiologist and HF doctor. I did not have muscle pain.

My wife was put on a statin but was not told to take Co-Q-10 and she developed muscle pain. I told her about co-Q-10 and to talk to her PCP about taking it for muscle pain. She did and he said take it. She went on Co-Q-10 and it helped reduce her muscle pain. It is not a cure all but worth trying (if your doctor approves) to see if can help.

There is a lot of information out there about co-q-10. One is that it is not easily absorbed. An enhanced type of Co-q-10 called ubiquinol is better absorbed but is much more expensive. What do I take, both.

My husband took it for a few months and his liver lab results were not good, in ultrasound you can see a start of a fat liver( no Alkohol)
We have an appointment with his cardiologist and Internist this week, stopped the statin by ourselves.
