Hi Hans. I had a prostatectomy in Sept ‘23, two knee replacements in the last two years, and repair of a ruptured Achilles in June. (Kinda feels like the wheels fell off at 65!) I used cannabis post-op each time - first as a supplement and then as a way to wean off the manmade pain meds more quickly. I had great results!

You have options. Go to a good cannabis store and chat with a “budtender” or two. Find one who’s willing to talk to you and is knowledgeable. Mine recommended different products for different issues (gummies for sleep vs pain, for example. You don’t have to smoke it). I found CBD helpful for inflammation but not pain, btw. I found the THC helped with hunger and pain.

In short, I’m a fan of cannabis for helping you deal with inflammation, pain, and sleep. I like that it doesn’t come with the potential nasty side effects of manmade pharmaceuticals. Good luck to you, Hans, on your path of recovery.

Thank you. Just starting out this process. Thank you for your insight. I always found that taking one pharmaceutical to counteract another pharmaceutical a very strange concept. I wanted to avoid the stigma of cannabis. Thank you for your insight.
