I wanted to thank everyone and post an update.
After many many back and forths, we managed to have the doctor ( a very nice and caring person) reach out directly to someone high up in Fairfax Radiology. When we reached out to the company again this week, they said, "we are removing all charges from your account and calling off the collection agency"!
I guess the lesson here is to keep pushing.
